The Board recently held a forum on managed aquifer recharge in California agriculture and put forth several recommendations.<\/p>\n<p>Flood-MAR is an integrated and voluntary resource management strategy that uses flood water resulting from rainfall or snow melt for managed aquifer recharge (MAR) on agricultural lands and working landscapes, including but not limited to refuges, floodplains, and flood bypasses.<\/p>\n<p>Large-scale implementation of Flood-MAR will require robust public-private partnerships, landowner participation, and the use of agricultural lands and working landscapes as effective and essential pathways for groundwater recharge and aquifer replenishment.<\/p>\n<p>Workshop participants will be asked to provide input on current activities related to Flood-MAR. The workshop includes online or in-room participation options. The in-room option will take place in the Hearing Room at the Bonderson Building, 901 P Street, Sacramento.
