The California Good Ag Neighbors: The Produce-Livestock Interface Workshop<\/strong> series is bringing together farmers, ranchers, academia and state and federal regulators to share and learn about the most innovative tools, information and research available to prevent foodborne illness, while continuing to work together to promote and provide diverse and resilient California agriculture. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first of two California Good Ag Neighbors workshops was held June 11 in Holtville, located in Southern California\u2019s agriculturally vibrant Imperial Valley. The second workshop\u00a0is today (June 13)\u00a0in Stockton, in the fertile Central Valley. Click here to learn more about\u00a0the workshops.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

CDFA’s Produce Safety Program<\/a> (PSP) worked with the UC Davis Western Institute for Food Safety and Security (WIFSS) to produce the California Good Ag Neighbors workshops. \u201cEducate Then Regulate\u201d is a core value of PSP\u2019s role to educate California produce farmers on how to comply with the requirements of the Produce Safety Rule, and then regulate farms to ensure they are in compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
