CDFA secretary Karen Ross today in Visalia presenting a proclamation honoring the 100th anniversary of Land O’Lakes, a dairy cooperative that formed in Minnesota in 1921 and merged with Dairyman’s Cooperative Creamery Association in Tulare in 1998. Land O’Lakes now counts nearly 150 California dairy operators among its members. California is the leading dairy state in the nation, with farmgate sales of nearly $7.5 billion in 2020, representing nearly 20 percent of US dairy production.
