This is National Milk Day<\/a> in the US, and in recognition of that, here’s a video produced by the Food and Drug Administration noting that 100 years have passed since the establishment of the Pasteurized Milk Ordinance<\/a> (PMO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In connection with the ordinance, CDFA\u2019s Milk and Dairy Food Safety Branch<\/a> has maintained active participation in the National Conference on Interstate Milk Shipments, and continues to hold leadership roles as the standards and practices in the PMO are updated every two years in a cooperative manner by all 50 states, industry and FDA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Government agencies all work together to provide a safe and wholesome supply of milk and dairy products to Californians and all of the US. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

California produces approximately 20 percent of the nation’s milk supply. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
