Great ShakeOut at CDFA!

Members of CDFA's Emergency Planning Committee take part in the annual Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill.  An estimated 20 million people around the world are estimated to be participating in the event to promote earthquake readiness.

    I participated for a minute, but it was tough because my office was unaware, so I just felt silly… perhaps to make this a better effort, an alarm or announcement could sound to alert everyone at all CDFA offices for the next practice drill.

    I agree with Felicia. In my unit, I don’t think any one of us participated. We were too busy attending to our task that this was overlooked. I don’t want to imagine what would have happen if the shake (earthquake) is actually happening.

    You can use the drill (and even the fact that people did not know about it) to start a conversation about what would you do in an earthquake or other disaster! It is also a good reminder to think about preparedness at your home and with your family
